Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God–this is your spiritual act of worship.Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–his good, pleasing and perfect will. Â ~Romans 12:1-2
I remember watching the movie Transformers when I was young. It was pretty cool, how the cars could change from simple everyday automobiles to massive Autobots with the coolest features. The robots had the ability to change into different mechanical objects as they sought the key to ultimate power. I think it has been among the few movies my family and I have watched at the cinemas. *I’m not much of a movie fan 🙂 *. Well, that’s not the topic for today, neither is it the reason I chose to start this blog. But its title may summarize what I yearn for each day, my personal anthem for this year. That I may be transformed drastically, by the renewal of my mind… And what would the result be? The perfect will of God; what is good and acceptable and perfect. Sounds like we’re redoing the movie all over again huh? 🙂 And more literally, just as a transformer powers so many houses and its absence for a few hours may cause such great demise, so may my heart be not at peace if I’m lacking His word: my lighthouse.
When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I have no single bit of talent left and could say I used every bit of talent you gave me.
So Daddy, my Lord and best friend, may You use me as a mouthpiece. May your word be alive in me. May I be a light unto the world. Let my light shine before men, so that they may see my good works and praise you Oh Lord, my Father in Heaven. May my body be a living sacrifice to you, not just by my words, but my deeds. May I be your mouthpiece so that in the glorious day of Your coming back You may say ” Well done my good and faithful servant.” Not by my strength but by Yours. Not by my wisdom but by yours.
Amen.
